Job Description
Reporting to Senior Director, Accounting, the Manager, Accounting is responsible for managing the Accounting GL Team that is responsible for all Opex transactions of the organization, as well as other GL functions, including sales tax filing, bank transactions, balance sheet reconciliations and data setup in financial systems.
The Manager reviews and approves journal entries; signs off on reconciliations as per SOX requirement; reviews month-end analysis files and provides explanations for variances and fluctuations. With strong accounting and communication skills, the Manager is the key finance contact for the businesses, providing guidance in terms of accounting treatment, processes and procedures.
· Lead and supervise Accounting GL Team, assigning tasks, providing training, performance evaluations and addressing any staff issues
· Manage month-end closing for all Opex transactions to ensure accuracy and completeness.
· Review and approve journal entries, balance reconciliations including bank, accruals and prepaids
· Oversee monthly sales tax filing
· Help and support Financial Reporting and Projects Team to complete monthly Hyperion financial reports and quarterly income tax packages
· Maintain communication with the businesses to understand nature of transactions and provide guidance to GL Team and business partners on accounting treatment and financial impact
Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
· CPA license required
· In depth understanding of accounting principles and practices, as well as SOX compliance
· Excellent leadership and communication skills
· Extensive experience in month-end closing and financial reporting
· Proficiency in accounting software and financial reporting tools
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
